White Phosphorus Lumps

White phosphorus is a toxic, flammable, and unstable form of phosphorus. It ignites spontaneously in air at around 30–40 °C, producing dense white smoke of phosphorus pentoxide. Because of this pyrophoric nature, it is stored under water or inert gas. It has a garlic-like odor, is insoluble in water but soluble in carbon disulfide, and is extremely hazardous to health and the environment.
